FIREFIGHTERS were called to a section of the M56 after a car caught fire on Friday, May 2.
Crews arrived at the section of the motorway between Junction 5, Manchester Airport, and Junction 6, Hale and Wilmslow, at around 7.15pm.
The firefighters used a hose reel to put out the blaze, which had been caused by a mechanical fault.
The Highways Agency was also in attendance to manage traffic flow.
