A DAVYHULME family are appealing for the public’s help tracing their puppy who went missing near Carrington Spur.
Eight-month-old West highland terrier Binky was enjoying her usual evening walk a week last Sunday when she was startled by a group of horse riders and dashed for cover.
Distraught owners Alison and Phil Evans have been searching for their beloved pet ever since, but despite a few sightings, have yet to be reunited.
Alison said: “Initially people said she was further back down the path, then she seems to have vanished. She may have taken a wrong turn and headed down towards Stretford, and we have two reports of a dog matching her description at Jackson’s Boat on Monday evening.
“We have another report of a stray at Stretford Arndale Centre on Tuesday. This could mean she is living rough around the Stretford or Chorlton area.
“We have another report that a woman with a Labrador claimed to have found a dog that matches her description and taken it home on Sunday, however, she said the dog didn't have ID, and that she had taken it to a vet. It would be helpful if this woman could get in touch so we can rule this dog out.”
Over the weekend there have been several further sightings of Binky on playing fields at Stretford Grammar, and another outside the Robin Hood, but despite people trying to catch her she managed to escape.
