THE heartbroken girlfriend of a cyclist who died after crashing with a truck in Old Trafford has paid tribute to him.
Harry Wilmers, 25, died last Thursday (August 6).
At 12.50pm that day, police were called to the junction of Seymour Grove and Talbot Road in Old Trafford, following reports of a collision.
There officers discovered a bike and a truck had crashed outside the Toll Gate Inn.
Harry was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died a short time later.
The 30-year-old truck driver was uninjured.
On Friday his girlfriend, Rebecca Stephenson, paid tribute to him.
Harry lived with her in Chorlton-cum-Hardy and was a support worker for people with mental health difficulties.
Miss Stephenson said on behalf of his whole family: “Harry was a much-loved son, brother, partner and friend.
“A more special person, nobody could have hoped to meet.
“His impact on everyone was profound and positive, his intelligence incredible and his love all-encompassing.
“Harry, our beautiful experience will remain forever alive and tenderly protected in the hearts and minds of his beloved.”
Police are still appealing for anyone with information about the collision to call the Stretford Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 7761.
