RELIEVED owner Sharon Lewis has been reunited with her pet dog.
West Highland terrier Bonnie disappeared from the back garden of Sharon's parents' home, on Conway Road, Sale Moor, on July 30.
Teacher Sharon, who is on holiday from her job at a Reading school, put up posters throughout the area in a bid to find her, and the police investigated her disappearance.
And three weeks after she went missing the police found her at an address in Stretford, after a tip-off. They identified her through a microchip.
The circumstances of her disappearance are still not clear and inquiries are continuing.
The family she was found with said they had found her wandering in Stretford, and she was well cared for by them.
Sharon, aged 27, said she is just delighted to have 10-month-old Bonnie back: "I am absolutely over the moon - I can't express what a relief it is.
"You imagine the worst has happened to her."
She added: "The police have been wonderful, I am so impressed with them.
"I would also like to thank everyone else who has tried to help me find her."
