AN Urmston Beatles enthusiast has been invited to appear as the Beatles expert on BBC Radio Manchester Beatle Day tomorrow, Friday.
The Beatle Day coincides with the 50 year anniversary of the fab four’s first single ‘Love Me Do’ which was released half a century ago this week.
Paul Wilde has already created a website celebrating the band’s association with Trafford, as the Beatles played in Abbottsfield Park, Urmston, in 1963.
Paul hopes to get a Heritage Plaque erected to mark the 50 year anniversary, and is holding a ‘Beatle Night’ at the Parish Hall, Lady of the Rosary Davyhulme, to mark the beginning of the Heritage Plaque campaign.
Paul said: “The Urmston appearance is a milestone as this featured other groups such as Brian Polle and the Tremeloes, The Dennisons plus others, making it the forerunner to the outdoor festivals we all know so well today.”
Anyone wanting to attend the Beatle Night email Paul at mail@thebeatlesin manchester.co.uk and more information can be found at thebeatlesinmanchester.co.uk.
