KENNETH & DOROTHY CHADWICK Kenneth passed away peacefully at Trafford General Hospital on 31st January 2021 aged 97 years. Dorothy Constance (nee Clarke-Stradling) passed away peacefully at Wyncourt Nursing Home, Timperley, on Sunday 14th February 2021 aged 96 years. Beloved husband and wife for 70 years, loving parents of Alan, Keith and Paul, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law to Kathryn, Sue and Helen, and much loved grandparents of Jack, Tom, and Solomon, loved Uncle, Aunt, and good friends to many. Ken was employed at Manchester Town Hall as a Local Government Officer for many years. In 2015 he appeared in the Channel 4 documentary `Messages Home' Calling Blighty' about his experiences during WWII Burma campaign. Due to Covid restrictions we are unable to undertake his life-long wish to donate his body to Medical Research. Dorothy enlisted for the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in 1943 and two weeks after VE Day Dorothy accepted a posting to Celle, outside Hamburg, Germany. Dorothy was involved in the programme of re-settlement of displaced persons, and de-Nazification of German civilians from December 1945 to 1947. Dorothy worked part-time for several years at Travis's' sweet shop, Marsland Road, Brooklands . A private family funeral has been arranged. A Memorial event will be organised for later in the year.
