Alty return to league action tomorrow after a two-week break as they take on Crawley Town at Moss Lane.
With several of the Robins relegation rivals picking up points in recent weeks, it is important they pick up points against the South Coast side.
But it won't be easy, with Crawley boasting a talented side despite their precarious financial position.
The departure of manager John Hollins has left them in a spot of bother but could also act as a spur for the players to improve results further.
Players Ben Judge and David Woozley have taken over managerial duties and there will certainly be no lack of motivation on the visitors' part.
The good news for Alty is that they have a virtually full strength squad, with Peter Band and Gary Scott currently the only injury concerns.
Peter Thomson could be included in the matchday squad as manager Graham Heathcote looks to give the big striker some Conference game-time.
Crawley, meanwhile, are likely to hand a debut to winger Ryan Peters who arrived on loan from Brentford this week.
They could be without strikers Ben Strevens and Jake Edwards, however, while other key players Tony Scully, Scott Hiley and Ben Judge are in the frame for a return.
FORM
Alty: LDWLLAlty have had a mixed run of form of late, with the important win over Southport followed by defeats in both the FA Cup and the Conference.
But the performance at York was at least a major improvement on the side's abject display at Rushden a week earlier and after a two-week break they should be refreshed and raring to go.
Crawley: LWLLW
Although Crawley have sealed two crucial wins in recent weeks over fellow strugglers Cambridge United and St Albans City, they have also suffered their fair share of setbacks.
The 3-2 FA Cup defeat at home to local rivals Lewes was probably the worst of those, although a 1-0 loss at Forest Green hampered their hopes of escaping the relegation zone.
The Red Devils will go into this week's game on a high though after picking up three much-needed points in the only Conference game last week.
DANGERMEN: Tony Scully and Scott Rendell
Much-travelled winger Tony Scully would likely find his way into most Conference sides and brings with him plenty of league experience.
Skilful and quick, he is consistently able to get behind the full back to deliver the killer ball, as he showed playing for Exeter at Moss Lane last season.
Despite his talent, Scully can often drift out of games if he doesn't see enough of the ball but Alty's defence will have to be on their toes to successfully marshall him.
Scully is likely to provide the ammunition for young striker Scott Rendell, who joined the club on work experience from Premiership side Reading in the summer.
Rendell has already scored seven league goals this season and with the likes of Jake Edwards and Ben Strevens also at their disposal, Crawley are not short of striking options.
