POLICE in Trafford are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Old Trafford yesterday, Thursday 28 November 2006.
At approximately 7.45pm, two men wearing balaclavas entered the Hulme convenience store in Stretford Road (A5067) and threatened a man behind the counter with a handgun.
The victim then grabbed hold of the gun and was punched in the face a number of times during the ensuing struggle.
He managed to fight off the offenders and chased them out of the shop. Both men then ran off in the direction of Cornbrook Street and School Walk.
The offenders are described as male, white, wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.
