LEAFLETS featuring images of Jessie James have been handed out to schools and colleges across Trafford to encourage young people to stay safe and avoid putting themselves at risk.
Fifteen-year-old Jessie was fatally shot in Moss Side in September.
As well as using the leaflets to appeal for information about the murder, police are offering safety advice to youngsters with the statement Please don't let my death be in vain!' next to his picture.
Angela Lawrence from Mothers Against Violence, said: "It's really important that young people read the advice on these leaflets and put it into action.
"As a community we need to look out for each other and make sure our friends aren't putting themselves at risk.
Detective Superintendent Tony Cook, said: "Nobody wants Jessie's murder to be in vain and we're hoping that these leaflets will make young people in Manchester and Trafford sit up and take notice of what they can do to stay safe."
