THE FAMILY of a 31-year-old man who was murdered in Partington on Friday have urged people not to take the law into their own hands.
Ronald Paul Adams, 31, of Hallcroft, Partington, was stabbed in the street and detectives have launched a murder investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
At 10.20pm on Friday, police were called to Pollard Square in Partington following reports that a man had been stabbed in the street.
Paul Adams was taken to Trafford General Hospital for treatment to stab wounds. He later died in hospital.
Paul's family have issued the following tribute to him: "Paul was a family man and adored his two children, an 11 year old girl and a baby boy.
"He was well known and respected by people living in the area and we would urge anyone who has any further information about what happened to him to contact police.
"We do not want anyone to take the law into their own hands. This village is too small for retribution."
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was on Pollard Square from 10pm that evening, or who may have further information on this incident, to contact Stretford CID on 0161 856 7674 or 0161 872 5050, or Crimestopppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A 21-year-old man from the local area has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He continues to be questioned by officers.
