LIKE father, like daughter an Altrincham postmaster has followed in her father's footsteps to land a top position.
Denise Bookbinder has taken over as president of the South Manchester Federation of sub-Postmasters.
It is a role her father, John Layton, previously held.
Denise also succeeded her father when she took over running Oldfield Post Office, on Seamons Road, Oldfield Brow, a couple of years ago. John was in charge of the post office for a quarter of a century before retiring.
John, aged 79, said: "I am very proud of her.
"I was a pretty successful sub postmaster but she is even more efficient. She is doing extremely well.
"Most post offices have taken a dip and are in a bad way. But Oldfield Post Office is doing extremely well and a lot of that is down to Denise."
