A SALE church will take centre stage in an episode of Coronation Street on Sunday.
St Martin's Church in Ashton-on-Mersey will be featured in a poignant storyline of the top soap.
The historic church is the venue for the baptism of Ashley and Claire Peacock's' baby, Freddie'.
In the storyline, the ceremony comes just weeks after the death of Freddie's grandfather, popular Street butcher Fred Elliott.
Freddie's godmother, Eileen', is also baptised.
St Martin's vicar, the Rev Robert Clack, said: "The rector and church wardens were on hand to offer advice, and watch all the goings on with the film crew."
