Colin Little talks about goalscoring, a change in style and derby day in his latest instalment of his weekly column.
The result was another disappointing one against Burton, we really could have done with a win.
But I wasn't too bothered about it because for 55 or 60 minutes our performance was very good. We played some nice football so I don't get too disappointed when we play like that because I know the results will come.
We were really unlucky. We had a few chances and I should've scored early on - it might have changed the game if I had.
A couple of mistakes from our defence and suddenly they were in the lead. It was so uncharacteristic of the defence because they've been so solid this year but it happens sometimes.
My own performance was much better and thankfully my foot wasn't giving me as much trouble, which is a good sign for the rest of the season.
I'm glad I got on the scoresheet and if the foot keeps getting better then I'll be hoping to start banging them in regularly again.
Graham (Heathcote) was saying this week that he wants some of the other lads to start chipping in with goals to take the pressure off me. It doesn't really affect me that much - I go about my game the same way no matter who's scoring - but if someone goes on a good run it's all well and good.
There are goalscorers in the squad, particularly Rod, whose record speaks for itself, and I know we will start scoring more regularly.
Val's put a couple away in the last two weeks so he's probably our top scorer now!
But it's good for him to start finishing his chances again because when I played with him back in the day he was a prolific scorer from midfield. He's had a bit of a difficult period in front of goal recently when things haven't been falling for him but he's an expert at timing his runs into the box and the goals will come.
The reason we've not scored as many goals as we would have liked this season could be down to the fact that we've changed our style of play.
We don't use out-and-out wingers anymore but midfielders who play out wide, so that we are a bit more solid on the flanks.
When we had Pottsy (Colin Potts) out wide he supplied the kind of crosses that a striker loves, so I was able to put plenty of them away.
But you do lose out defensively when you play him so we've had to sacrifice that service and the goals have to come from elsewhere.
I know quite a few of the fans have said they think Robbie Lawton should always be played down the middle but as a striker, I think he's much better used out wide.
Robbie's been our most consistent player this season and he's made the step up from Conference North really well.
He's the kind of midfielder that enjoys making surging runs with the ball rather than looking for that killer pass, so when you're a striker and you've got your central midfielder running at you it can sometimes be difficult to know what to do.
But when Robbie's out wide he is able to get to the byline and get the ball into the box and that's definitely something that will benefit us as a team.
Personally, I prefer to see Bush (Steve Bushell) in the middle with Val because he's a playmaker and a good passer of the ball so he can get the ball up to the strikers pretty quickly.
We are pretty confident we can start getting the results though because we have been playing well and we are a better team than we were last season.
The trip to Kidderminster on Saturday is one we might have looked at last year as a bit of a hopeless cause, something we would have been lucky to get three points from.
But we are pretty hopeful we can get something because we have gone to a few tough places and got results this season - the likes of Oxford and Aldershot - so we don't fear anyone.
Of course, Saturday's also a big day for my other team - City.
There's been plenty of banter between the boys this week because we've probably got a fair share of Blues and Reds in the squad but I'm not that confident.
City have a few results in the derby in recent years but United are playing well at the moment and they don't lose much at Old Trafford.
I've already told Geoff (Goodwin) that he needs to give us the good coach on Saturday and he's promised he'll pay for Prem Plus so we should be able to watch the match on the way to Kiddy!
