WELLACRE Academy had a day to remember as students picked up their much anticipated GCSE results.

The young people were delighted when they gazed at their result sheets to see widespread success across the board.

The percentage of students scooping 5 A*-C grades including the very important English and Mathematics qualification has improved this year and every single Wellacre student gained at least 5A*-G grades.

Vital English grades also showed an improvement which was very impressive against the backdrop of a fall in national figures.

Some star performers were Luke Walsh, Adam Gray, Maati Zaouri, Joe Eagling Stott and Joshua Johnston who all achieved 10 A*-C grades. A brilliant set of results.

Miss Melanie Wicks, headteacher at Wellacre, said: “It was a pleasure to see the students pick up such great results.

"A real testament to their dedication and hard work. It comes down to their super efforts and that of their parents and staff who have supported them brilliantly during their studies.”
