THIS morning at Urmston Grammar the corridors were filled with hopeful students awaiting their GCSE results.
The mood of anticipation amongst Urmston Grammar’s Year 11 students and their parents soon turned to elation as they celebrated the school’s highest ever results.
A remarkable 24 students achieved A*/A in all their subjects: Afiya Amesu, Mediha Butt, Sarah Case, Samuel Dillon, Bridie Finnan, Georgia Guilbert, Rachael Horner, Samar Imtiaz, Samantha Johnson-Audini, Ivan Lee, Laura Mann, Jordan-Luke McDonald, Taylor McKevitt, Patrick Moloney, Alexander Myall, Jack P O'Brien, Sanjay Patel, Eleanor Scully, Abhinav Soni, Megan Thorpe, Katrina Walker, James Wasp, Victoria Willows and Thomas Yung (Thomas achieved a B in Greek - but his phenomenal 11 A* mean we have to include him on this list!)
Riffat Wall, Principal, said “These outstanding results are testament to the commitment and hard work of our students and the support of all our staff.”
“Congratulations to all the Year 11 students at Urmston Grammar who have achieved record results this summer. We are proud of all our students and wish them all well as they continue their studies in the sixth form.”
