A FORMER Flixton Girls' School pupil will be performing on the X Factor this weekend, as she pursues her dream of a successful singing career.
Seventeen-year-old Yasmin Broom, from Stretford, is taking part in the X Factor live finals as a member of the girl group Four of Diamonds.
The group came back into the competition late to replace axed finalists Brooks Way, after losing their place following the ‘judges’ house’ shows’.
Her mum, Vanessa Broom, said of Yasmin’s X Factor experience: “It’s been an emotional roller-coaster for them but she's loving it. She has met some amazing people.”
She is appealing to Trafford residents to vote for Yasmin’s group to ensure it stays in the competition.
"I think it's important to show them our support as it's not every day a local girl achieves her dream."
Yasmin - who is also known by the surname Lauryn - attended Access to Music College in in Manchester and has sang at the Urmston Live festival.
