No duck talk today I'm afraid. Not because I've lost interest - not at all, am still as obsessed with Billy and Ellie as ever. No duck talk because I wanted to tell you about a group of children that have been with us all week that have really moved us all.

Most of you will have heard of Claire House Children's Hospice which is based in Wirral. When one thinks of a Children's Hospice, you tend to think about the kids staying there because they are ill, but how many of us think about their families? Their parents? Their brothers and sisters? Well, luckily Claire House do - they have support groups set up to help parents and siblings to deal with their loved one being ill, or sadly to help them deal with their bereavement.

The children visiting us this week have been from the Sibling Support group at Claire House Children's Hospice (if I have used the incorrect term I hope they can forgive me). All of the 12 kids staying with us are dealing with the loss of a brother or sister, very young minds dealing with very adult emotions. It has been a pleasure to welcome them to The Adventure Farm for a much-needed break, not just for them, but also for their parents who may need a little time on their own with their own thoughts.

A couple of things really touched me today which I felt I had to write about. The first was when the children asked if they could do a balloon release the morning. This wasn't just a fun thing to do, but a way for them to "talk" to their brother or sister. Each child wrote a personal message to their lost loved-one, tied it to a balloon and sent it up to the heavens. Breaks your heart doesn't it?

The second was when one of the kids stood up, on his own, at their "End of Holiday Presentation" to say thank you to all the staff here at The Adventure Farm. It really does humble us all to see such bravery and generosity of spirit in those so young. We live in a world where we are all so quick to criticise young people and their behaviour, wouldn't it be nice if we were so quick to praise and love them as well? Sorry, don't mean to get political, but there are a lot of great kids out there that are over-looked because they just get on with things. How did that song go? "Ac-centuate the positive, e-liminate the negative"
