A TEENAGER and her parents who were killed in a crash on Sunday have been named as a family from Old Trafford.
Stretford High School pupil Hajra Bibi Sidat, 14, was killed at the scene of the crash on the A34 in Alderley Edge, just after midnight on Sunday, November 4.
Her father, Hafiz Liyakat, 47, was also pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother, Salma Bibi, 41, died at hospital from her injuries.
Hajra's older sister Unaisah, 19, and a nine-year-old cousin - who has not been named - were also seriously injured in the crash and are fighting for their lives in hospital.
The crash involving a minibus and a car happened in the A34 Melrose Way in Alderley Edge, just after midnight on Sunday.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time."
The statement also confirmed that a number of people travelling in the minibus were also treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
Schoolchildren at Stretford High School held a minute's silence in memory of 14-year-old Hajra on Tuesday morning.
Head teacher Nicola Doward said her "thoughts and love" were with the family, and paid tribute to Hajra as a model pupil and inspiration to others.
She said: "We are all, pupils, staff and Governors at Stretford High School, devastated by the loss of Hajra – but we also consider ourselves to be very blessed because we were lucky enough to know her.
"Hajra was a wonderful young person –a gifted artist, hardworking, dedicated and determined - she never gave up on anything or anyone.
"A true leader, she was her Form Captain in Year 8 and carried out that role with a professional pride.
"She was kind, considerate, caring and looked out for everyone, always ready to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
"Her faith was very strong and it was a huge part of who she was. She is loved and very much missed by all of us and will live on in our hearts.
"We will be having a special assembly for our school community to come together to say a special goodbye to a very special person."
A funeral for the three Sidat family members will be held at Southern Cemetery in Chorlton-cum-Hardy at 11am today.
