SALE Festival Committee has made up for last year when Covid prevented the Festival taking place.

This year’s event will give musicians a chance to perform live after being hushed for so long.

Unless otherwise stated, the following take place at Waterside Arts:

On Friday, June 4, from 8 pm – 9 pm. relax to the mellow sound of Julian Liu, guitarist, whose range extends from Giulani’s Grand Overture to an arrangement of the Beatles’ Yesterday.

On Monday, June 7, at 7.30pm, the Mat Walklate Folk Duo will feature. Matt will sing and play the harmonica, flute, uilleann pipes and tin whistle in the Irish tradition accompanied by Paolo Fuschi on guitar and vocals.

If jazz is your thing then Trafford Music Services Jazz night featuring jazz students and their tutors takes place at 6.15 on Wednesday, June 9.

The Karpenters Tribute Duo on Friday June 11 at 8 pm is a sure fire sell-out.

The first Saturday, June 12, will feature String Infusion at 7.30pm. Three ladies will impress you with a performance on the electric strings.

Brass band lovers. will have an outdoor treat, at Sale Plaza, on Sunday, June 27 at 10 am and 3 pm when they can hear the A4 Brass quartet. It will feature four players from top bands playing cornet, tenor horn, baritone horn and euphonium.

And it's not all music. Enter Tuesday, June 8 at 7.30pm in your diary. That is when Susan Craig will talk about the monologues of Marriott Edgar who wrote The Lion and Albert. She’ll show little known videos of past comedy greats.

Two days later at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 10, the Nodding Dog Comedy group will have your ribs aching with a come and laugh comedy night.

Youngsters can also watch a film at Waterside Arts. Paddington 2 will be screened at 6 pm on Saturday, June 5.
