IT was an emotional rollercoaster, but England are into the final of Euro 2020.
It was far from an ideal start for Gareth Southgate's men, falling behind to a free kick.
But it did not matter, because we all know what happened afterwards.
Here is a look at how the rest of the semi-final unfolded across Trafford.
At Hotel Football next to Old Trafford, there were celebrations as England dragged themselves back into the game via an own goal.
Raheem Sterling's missed opportunity only a few moments earlier was soon forgotten.
England might have won it in normal time, but a 1-1 scoreline on the referee's final whistle sent the game into extra time.
Then, at around 10.10pm, England won a penalty.
At Urmston Sports Club, desperation turned to jubilation as Harry Kane followed up on a weak penalty to fire home the rebound.
Supporters embraced, but stopped short of the bundle the England players were forming on Kane at Wembley at the same time.
No England win is complete without Three Lions, and there was a rousing rendition at Altrincham's Con Club.
There, supporters were singing and dancing in the old working men's club under the glow of the big screen.
Depending on the outcome of Sunday's final against Italy, this might be the last time these supporters and others are celebrating during Euro 2020.
But it is safe to say we are all hoping there is more to come.
