A STUDENT from Trafford is 'thrilled' to be involved in the final of Miss British Isles next month.
Katherine Stubbs, from Sale, is one of 50 finalists from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales to compete for the crown in September.
The 21-year-old won a semi-final back in 2020 to reach the final, which is at Chester Racecourse - in the same city as Katherine is about to study a graduate diploma in law.
She left the University of Exeter with a first in archaeology and forensic science earlier in the year.
Katherine said: "I'm thrilled about reaching the final.
"Modelling was never something which crossed my mind, but the experience has been amazing.
"The organisers have been so welcoming and supportive and the photo shoots have been so fun.
"The competition has been motivation to eat healthily and keep moving throughout the pandemic and I can't recommend the experience enough for anyone to give it a go."
As well as archaeology, Katherine's hobbies include archery and surfing.
She is hoping her performance in the final is a bullseye for the judges.
All finalists must do a professional photo shoot prior to the final and a catwalk show at the final.
The overall winner is to be announced on the evening.
Katherine said: "I'm really pleased to have got this far and I'm hopeful that the final will go well.
"Whatever happens, the experience has improved my confidence and I've loved every minute of it."
Whoever is crowned Miss British Isles will receive prizes worth more than £10,000 including a modelling contract, a trip to Spain for a photo shoot and sightseeing and free fashionwear.
Some past winners have gone on to earn top modelling contracts, make television appearances and even star in a film in Bollywood.
The final of Miss British Isles is on September 3 at Chester Racecourse.
