Ahead of Remembrance Sunday services, poignant silhouettes of 'Tommy' soldiers have been erected in Urmston.
The two silhouettes have been placed either side of the War Memorial in Davyhulme Circle, which will be hosting a service this weekend.
The figures were placed by David Mackereth from Trafford Events Ltd., with the materials coming from Cool Freeze Ltd, based in Trafford Park.
Mr Mackereth, who come up with the idea in partnership with Trafford Council, said: "Family members of mine have served in the forces and Remembrance Sunday means a lot to me.
"When the template became available I thought it would be a good idea to make the silhouettes for everyone to see."
Cllr Judith Lloyd, Trafford Council’s Armed Champion Forces Lead, thanked Mr Mackereth for providing the silhouettes.
She said: "I think they look beautiful and are a fabulous tribute to all those who bravely gave their lives for our freedom."
Eight services will be held on Sunday across Trafford, after last year when only one was held in the borough which was invitation only.
People planning to attend any service are asked to take a lateral flow test beforehand and should not go if they test positive or display any symptoms of Covid.
