A FLOOD alert is in place for areas of Trafford as water levels rise on the River Mersey.
Rainfall over the weekend, which is set to persist throughout Sunday, means low-lying paths and roads are at risk.
Advice from the Environment Agency says to avoid these low-lying paths and roads, and not to attempt to cross water in flooded areas on foot or by car.
