The Altrincham and East Didsbury tram lines are currently suspended due to a "major power loss caused by an overhead line fault" in Trafford last night.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have said that due to ongoing work, both lines are suspended and will likely be suspended for the rest of today, Wednesday, February 16.

Affected passengers are able to use their tickets on commercial buses and rail services and there is a limited bus replacement service in place for both lines.

TfGM have said they will provide updates throughout the day.

The Airport line is also partly suspended, with services operating between Northern Moor and Manchester Airport.

Tickets are accepted on the following buses:

  • Altrincham line – Bus ticket acceptance on the 11, 23, 245, 255, 256, 263
  • East Didsbury line – Bus ticket acceptance on the 23, 41, 42, 43, 85, 86, 101, 103, 142, 143
  • Airport line – Bus ticket acceptance on the 11, 41, 43, 101, 103

TfGM is currently reviewing refunds for passengers who used contactless during the disruption on Tuesday evening.
