A bar in Trafford is up for recognition for its commitment to craft beers and those who brew them.
The Longford Tap in Stretford is to receive Trafford and Hulme Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA)'s LocAle Pub Award for 2022 at a presentation on July 28.
Opened three years ago by brothers Paul and Dave Burgess in honour of the old The Longford cinema across the road, the bar at Stretford Mall is popular with residents and visitors to the town alike.
They come to The Longford Tap for its selection of craft beers, a lot of them from breweries within a few miles' radius.
After the bar received Trafford and Hulme CAMRA's Best Newcomer Award for 2020, the owners are proud to earn recognition again, in particular in light of all the challenges posed by the pandemic.
Paul said: "All of us at The Longford Tap are so proud to have won this award, especially when you consider the couple of years that we have all had in this industry.
"To be recognised is incredible. And it's testament to the breweries we have the pleasure to work with, and their supplies of craft beers, that we can do what we do."
He added: "Not only do we thank the team at the Trafford and Hulme CAMRA for their vote, but a huge thank you to all the breweries who supply us, to our brilliant bar staff, to our excellent entertainment team, and of course, to our loyal customers who have supported us and still do support us in the three years we have been open."
A member of Trafford and Hulme CAMRA is to present Dave and Paul with the LocAle Pub Award for 2022 at the Longford Tap on July 28.
The presentation is at around 8pm.
