A cocktail bar is preparing to open in Altrincham at the end of this week with a twist for the area's aspiring singers.
That is because as well as a range of colourful and creative drinks, there is karaoke on offer at Alibi on Shaws Road.
The cocktail bar is the brainchild of Carl Peters and Richard Littman, who have a combined total of almost 40 years of experience in the industry, including at coffee shop Common Ground up the road, as well as at Steam & Rye, The Coronet Theatre, The Mermaid Theatre and Translate in the capital.
Alibi contains a bar for guests to sample the drinks against a soundtrack of songs from the nineties and noughties, and a downstairs den billed 'the best this side of Tokyo' for groups of up to 16 people to sing some of their own. Both of these are able to be booked for events, according to the website.
It has been a long time coming for Carl and Richard, who were intending for it to open in early 2020 initially.
Carl said: "We are so excited to be launching Alibi in Altrincham. It has been a long time coming and we know it is going to be a venue that is loved by locals of all ages.
"We’ve created the ideal space to unwind with friends and have some truly carefree fun after a long week."
Richard said: "We know the Altrincham nightlife scene well and we are confident Alibi is going to be a popular spot with those who love to party.
"We are getting everything ready for the launch when the karaoke machine will be geared up and the cocktails will be flowing. We cannot wait."
Alibi opens on September 2 at 6pm. It is then open from Thursday to Sunday each week, as well as on other weekdays for events such as this winter's World Cup.
