Residents are set to come together at Trafford Town Hall this afternoon, Sunday, to mark the proclamation of King Charles III.
The new monarch's role and the name he will use was confirmed during a meeting of the Accession Council attended by privy councillors at St James’s Palace in London yesterday, Saturday.
The announcement came following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died aged 96 on Thursday.
Across the country today there will be local proclamations to mark the announcement of the new head of station, including in Trafford at the town hall at 3pm.
People are invited to attend to watch the ceremony.
A council spokesman said: On Sunday at 3pm, members of the public are welcome to witness this historic event take place at Trafford Town Hall.
"The ceremony continues the traditional proclamation which dates back over the centuries."
