A festival near Altrincham is returning for a third year, with disco legends Boney M set to headline in the leafy Manchester suburbs.
Bowdonbury Festival will take place at Bowdon Cricket, Hockey & Squash Club on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 of May this year, with organisers saying they have secured their biggest lineup to date.
Boney M, the German-Caribbean disco and funk group, will take to the stage on the Saturday night along with singer Maizie Williams.
They are set to perform their biggest hits including Rivers of Babylon, Sunny, Rasputin, Brown Girl in the Ring, Daddy Cool, Ma Baker.
Previously, musical acts at Bowdonbury Festival had exclusively been tribute acts, but Boney M will now become the first original artist to appear at the festival.
Other performers will include local party bands and performers, including award-winning tributes to The Bee Gees, Elton John and David Bowie on the Sunday.
All profits raised at the festival go to support local sport projects at the Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club.
Organiser Max Eden said: "We have an incredible festival planned this year, with amazing music, awesome attractions and great pop-ups, working with incredible local businesses to create something unique that champions the local area.
"I can’t wait for everyone to be able to boogie with disco legends Boney M and come together as a community and have an incredible weekend."
Organisers also teased they are working out plans with an iconic Altrincham brand to create a unique festival experience on the Sunday, with more details to be shared soon.
Along with the music, there will be award-winning food, local pop-up artisan stalls, family attractions and main stage entertainment throughout.
Specially selected food outlets at the event includes Wood Fired Pizza, Gourmet Burgers, Crepes, Thai, Indian Street Food, Greek Gyros and more.
Bowdon Club itself will be operating a range of bars at the event with pop-up bars around the site from Pimms and fizz bar, gin bar and main bar serving a great festival selection including lager, ales, wines, spirits and more.
Tickets are currently on sale, with entry tickets, weekend passes and Premium Pavilion Pass tickets all on offer.
