Popular local festival Hale Barns Carnival is returning to Trafford this year, with a weekend of music, entertainment, food and fun set to take place.
The carnival will be held on Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23 at St Ambrose Playing Fields on Hale Road in Hale Barns, with people of all ages invited.
Organisers have lined up some iconic musical performers as well to headline the popular event.
This includes 10cc, the Stockport-founded rock band known for their hits throughout the 1970s and 80s.
The band was formed by frontman Graham Gouldman and went on to sell millions of records worldwide, topping the charts in the UK and overseas as they gained international acclaim.
They will be performing hits including The Things You Do For Love, Dreadlock Holiday, I’m Not in Love, Rubber Bullets and more on the Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Sunday night will see American soul legend Alexander O'Neal take to the stage as part of his farewell tour as he tours the UK for the last time.
The veteran singer will be performing hits such as To Make Me Love You, Criticize, Fake, Hearsay and more.
Performing alongside O'Neal will be actor and DJ Craig Charles, who will be delivering a DJ set.
He said: "This is going to be a thumping gig, a celebration of all things funk and soul.
"I can't wait to play to the Hale Barns crowd, playing the tunes and having a right good party alongside soul legend Alexander O’Neal."
Hale Barns Carnival is a not-for-profit event which is now in its eighth year and organiser Max Eden voiced his excitement ahead of its return.
He said: "This year’s event will be its biggest to date, we have an incredible line up of headliners featuring music royalty. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have planned, there’s some big surprises this year.
"The support we’ve received over the past eight years has been incredible, growing the event year on year within the community, thanks to our sponsors and all our lovely attendees - we have a festival for everyone to enjoy."
Hale Barns Carnival features a free entry day event from 12-4pm with local entertainment, food, a drink village and much more, while tickets for the evenings need to be purchased at halebarnscarnival.co.uk.
