Lancashire is a county with an abundance of things to see and do, but that can make it tricky to know what the best things to do are. We’ve put together a bucket list of five things you have to do at least once in Lancashire.
Pendle Hill
Pendle Hill sits 557 metres above sea level and is famous for its links to the Pendle Witch Trials of 1612.
Nowadays the hill is the perfect walk for those looking to enjoy some fantastic view over Lancashire.
If you want to make your trip to Pendle Hill a longer one, you can complete the Pendle Way which is 43 miles long.
Visit the beaches of Lytham St Annes
Often overlooked for neighbouring Blackpool, this town has some long and beautiful beaches to visit.
Lytham St Annes also has a range of unique independent shops, a pier and a historic windmill.
Visit Blackpool
Blackpool is famous throughout the United Kingdom for its ballroom, Pleasure Beach and amusements.
From September 1, a trip along the promenade in the evening will allow you to see the illuminations and Blackpool tower itself illuminated.
There’s something for everyone in Blackpool, but you can’t leave this seaside town without a trip to Madam Tussauds.
Visit Lancaster Castle
This castle can trace its history back to Roman times and is a fun day out for all of the family.
You can also attend one of the castle’s guided tours which will explain all about the people who were imprisoned in the castle during its long history.
Some of the people who were imprisoned in the castle include the Pendle Witches.
Bury Transport Museum
This museum has a range of cars, vans, buses and trains on display and focuses on the history of people living and working in the industrial North West of England.
The museum often runs special workshops and exhibitions which are fun for all children to get involved in.
Tickets to the museum can be purchased online.
