A Trafford dance troupe is hosting a family fundraiser with raffles and a bouncy castle this bank holiday weekend.
Diamonds Morris Dancers are holding the event at Trafford Social Club in Stretford from 1pm today (Saturday) to raise money for the troupe which does not receive any grants and fundraises to pay for its dresses.
The event will include a bouncy castle, raffles, face, body, and hair glitter, and a dance display by performers from the troupe.
Leah Murtagh started Diamonds Morris Dancers in 2019. The troupe practices every Tuesday at Humphrey Park Community Centre in Urmston at 4pm and trains on Saturdays at Trafford Social Club on Derbyshire Lane in Stretford.
The troupe participates in dance competitions every other week with The Morris Dancing Association (TMDA) and attends the championships every November.
Diamonds Morris Dancers is currently recruiting new and experienced dancers from three years old upwards. The troupe currently has 19 dancers ranging in age from six to 50 years old.
