Three young people have been arrested on suspicion of carrying knives at The Trafford Centre, with one suspected of carrying a large machete.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said on their Stretford page on X, formerly known as Twitter, that plain clothes officers from the force's Transport Unit were deployed to the Trafford Centre last night (September 9).
The officers were there "due to recent incidents of knife point robberies" occurring at or near the shopping centre.
GMP said three young people were detained in the bus interchange, with one allegedly said to have been carrying a "large machete" while another had a "large kitchen knife".
