The organisers of the Manchester Half Marathon released a map of the road closures for the run.
The half marathon is this Sunday (October 15) with around 16,500 runners in line to participate.
The start line and finish line are in Old Trafford and the route takes in Stretford and Sale as well as Chorlton and the city centre.
To allow runners to compete a number of roads in these areas are to be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
The organisers of the Manchester Half Marathon released a map of these road closures on their website.
The website reads: "The road closures will be in effect along and around the half marathon route starting from Saturday, and those roads in the surrounding area that are open will be busy so please plan extra time for any journeys you need to take. Many buses will be diverted due to these road closures.
"We recommend using Metrolink to travel to and from the event as there are several stops close to the athlete village, start line and finish line in Trafford."
