The borough is in pole position for one of the awards at this year's Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards.
An eight-strong shortlist for Foodie Neighbourhood of the Year contains Altrincham, Sale, Stretford and Urmston.
It contains Levenshulme, Monton, Prestwich and Stockport, which means no other area has more than one nominee. It means the borough is in pole position when the winners are announced at an event at New Century in the city centre in the New Year.
The winners are selected via a vote which is open now and until November 20.
Also in the running for one of the awards at this year's Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards are Stretford Canteen, Stretford, and Restaurant Orme, Urmston, which are nominated for Neighbourhood Venue of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
Nila's Burmese Kitchen, Trafford Park, is up for Affordable Eat of the Year; Grapefruit Coffee, Sale, is up for Coffee Shop of the Year; and New Market Dairy, Altrincham, is up for Retailer of the Year.
In a first for the event it is at a different time to the Manchester Food and Drink Festival itself, which is taking a year off for the first time in its 25-year history, with the exception of the coronavirus crisis.
Alexa Stratton Powell, the director of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards, said: "This decision was made after careful consideration around the best timing for the hospitality sector and separating the awards from the festival itself allows us to focus on each in depth.
"We're really looking forward to this year's event after another amazing year for Manchester’s hospitality scene."
