One casualty was rescued from a car after it crashed into the central reservation on the M56 motorway.
The emergency services were called to the stretch between Altrincham and Lymm at around 11.30am.
According to Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, one casualty was rescued from a car after it crashed into the central reservation on the eastbound carriageway.
Cheshire Police said there were no serious injuries as a result of the crash which involved a lorry too.
A spokesperson said: "At 11.30am, police were called to reports of a collision on the M56.
"The collision involved one car, a black Mazda, which collided with the central reservation.
"A HGV had also been involved in a minor collision with the car.
"There were no reports of any serious injuries. However, two lanes were blocked while recovery work was undertaken."
The eastbound carriageway reopened after around two hours.
