A Stretford road is to be closed for around eight weeks to 12 weeks to allow for gas works in the area.
Kings Road is to be closed between Royston Road and Skerton Road starting Monday (November 6).
According to Cadent Gas, which is responsible for the network, this is to allow to gas works in the area. A pipeline in place for almost a century is ageing with no option other than a replacement available to the supplier.
A diversion is in place for drivers although there is access to the footpaths throughout the work.
Mark Syers, of Cadent Gas, said: "We've carried out extensive work in the area already but a repair is not an option in this instance.
"We would like to thank customers for their patience and we apologise for any inconvenience experienced as we complete this work."
