A tenth teen was charged with murder in connection with the death of a boy who was stabbed in Stretford.

Kennie Carter died of a stab wound to the chest after the attack on Thirlmere Avenue on January 22, 2022.

At the end of last month, after an investigation of almost two years, a number of teenagers were charged with murder in connection with the death of the 16-year-old. 

They included Jabriel Ferguson, 18, of Old Trafford, and Rashaun William, 18, of Staffordshire, while the others who are juveniles cannot be named for legal reasons.

Now according to the police a tenth teen was charged with murder. He appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on November 20.

All of the teenagers are charged with the alternative charge of manslaughter.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicola McCulloch, from the Major Incident Team said: "The thoughts of everyone in the investigation team remain with Kennie's family who continue to be supported and who are aware of the progress being made in this investigation. This development shows our enquiries will not stop until we are able to bring some form of closure for his loved ones.

"I would like to ask anyone with information about Kennie's death or footage - including CCTV, dashcam or mobile - to make contact with police in confidence. It is not too late and we know the information is out there."
