A schoolboy is celebrating after he took top spot in a Christmas Card competition set up by the MP for Stretford and Urmston.
Kamran Broun, of Delamere School, received a certificate and a prize from Andrew Western on a visit to its site on Irlam Road.
The Christmas Card competition is a first for Mr Western since he became the MP for Stretford and Urmston in a by-election around a year ago. His predecessor Kate Green, now the Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester, ran the contest for children in the constituency during her tenure.
This year, it is sponsored by Therme UK, the company behind the creation of the £250 million water park and wellness spa which is set to open next to the Trafford Centre in 2025.
Kamran, 10, took top spot amongst more than 500 entries with a design including a multi-coloured Christmas Tree.
His entry is to be printed on the front of a card while the entries of some of the runners up are to be printed on the inside of the card which is set to be sent to hundreds of constituents.
Mr Western said: "I would like to thank Therme UK for sponsoring my first ever Christmas Card Design Competition.
"We received over 500 entries and the standard was very high. It was clear a lot of time and effort went into each design.
"Kamran's picture was the clear winner. It was bright and it stood out amongst the other entries.
"I want to thank everyone who took part in the competition and I wish all of my constituents a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
Professor David Russell, the chief executive of Therme UK, said: "We were delighted to sponsor Andrew's first children's Christmas Card Design Competition.
"I know the standard of entries was very high however Kamran's design stood out. Congratulations to Kamran and all the children who took part this year."
