According to Trafford Council the work is progressing on the creation of three CYCLOPS junctions all along Talbot Road, at the junctions with White City Way, Chester Road and Greatstone Road.
The first one, at the junction of Talbot Road and White City Way, is now complete after the roadworks started this year.
The second one, at the junction of Talbot Road and Chester Road, is now underway after the roadworks started recently.
And the third one, at the junction of Talbot Road and Greatstone Road, is in line to start early in 2024. The council said all of these roadworks are in line for completion ahead of the summer of 2024.
Aidan Williams, Trafford Council's executive member for climate change, said: "I am delighted with the result of this scheme. Trafford Council is committed to active travel and making the roads safer.
"We are proud of the work we are carrying out and we will continue to promote this type of environmentally-friendly travel throughout the borough."
Richard Nickson, Active Travel Programme Director at Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), said: "Talbot Road is a key route for people who live in or travel through the area and the ongoing programme of work will bring benefits to all road users.
"Building these junctions to provide protection for walking, wheeling or riding on busy roads are key part of the Bee Network, our vision for an integrated transport system connecting all modes of travel."
The funding for the work comes from the Mayor's Challenge Fund which aims to improve infrastructure for cycling and walking in Greater Manchester.
