A man died following a medical emergency on a tram at Firswood Metrolink.
The emergency services were called to the station at around 8.35am on Saturday.
Firswood Metrolink, on Rye Bank Road, was closed to the public by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to allow the paramedics and the police to respond to the incident. There were no trams between the airport and Trafford Bar or between East Didsbury and Trafford Bar throughout the morning.
In the afternoon, it was confirmed a man had died following a medical emergency.
Danny Vaughan, TfGM's Head of Metrolink, said: "At 8.35am this morning (February 3) we received reports of a man suffering a medical emergency onboard a tram at Firswood Metrolink.
“Unfortunately, the man has since passed away. Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends, as well as the other passengers who were onboard the tram during this distressing incident."
