The developer responsible for the redevelopment of the old Altrincham Rackhams site revealed another occupant ahead of its opening this year.
The authorities approved the regeneration of what was once a department store in 2022 after it was one of dozens of stores to be closed in 2020.
The developer responsible for the redevelopment of the old Altrincham Rackhams site, Bruntwood, renamed it Foundation. It revealed the first occupant in the form of a Lane7 bowling alley a year ago and this week it revealed another occupant in the form of a Starbucks coffee shop.
These are set to sit alongside other businesses still to be announced on the lower ground floor and the upper ground floor, with the upper floors of the development in the Stamford Quarter set aside for workspaces, while other attractions include a living wall containing 36,000 plants.
The developer's Head of Retail James Tootle said he was "delighted" with the arrival of a Starbucks coffee shop while Trafford Council leader Tom Ross said it was "fabulous".
The development is opening this year in either the spring or the summer, a little later than a target of last year told to The Messenger when it went on a tour of the development.
Cllr Ross said: "We are committed to transforming our town centres and our work with Bruntwood on Foundation is an example of this.
"We are attracting huge names as well as independent brands to our town centres and this is fabulous going forward," Cllr Ross added.
Bruntwood is also responsible for the redevelopment of Stretford Mall, also approved by the authorities in 2022, with the work already under way on phase one on King Street. This includes the reinstatement of the street with bars, restaurants, retailers and a market hall via the removal of the roof of the shopping centre.
It is in the process of applying for planning permission for phase two, which includes up to 800 homes, after an application at the end of last year.
