A man appeared in court charged with the murder of an 82-year-old man in Timperley.
John Neil died after a domestic disturbance at an address on Riddings Road last year.
The 82-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition but he died a short time afterwards. A man was arrested at the time and, yesterday (February 22), police confirmed a man was charged with murder.
Colin Neil, 50, of Riddings Road, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court for the first time the same day.
Previously Detective Inspector Lee Shaw, of GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "I've no doubt the community are shocked and are worried to hear the news about the death of the man, but I'd like to reassure them this is an isolated incident and, at this stage, we are not looking for anyone else."
