A Partington runner raised hundreds of boxes of cereal for a community centre in the town when he ran a marathon with a twist.
Scott Jarvis ran a two-mile route from his home on the hour, every hour, until he reached the 26 miles on Saturday (February 24).
Mr Jarvis, a firefighter at Sale Fire Station, was accompanied by dozens of different runners at different times throughout the day including his wife Catherine Jarvis, children Jack and Leila, and members of the running club the Mile Shy Club.
The 40-year-old raised hundreds of boxes of cereal for The Hope Centre, a community centre on Wood Lane which provides a range of services for residents including The Hope Store which stocks discounted, donated items for shoppers.
Mr Jarvis said: "This is the third time I've done the run and it's grown each year. All the runners (and non-runners) bring donations which are given to The Hope Centre, a charity which provides a range of services for families facing difficulties.
"The day was really successful and we raised a lot of donations."
