A man who unlawfully entered an address in Trafford before raping a teenage girl has been jailed.
Christopher Kofi Taylor appeared at Manchester Crown Court today (Tuesday, March 5) after pleading guilty to four counts of rape of a female under 16, trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
In August 2021, the 48-year-old trespassed into a property and attacked his victim.
Police were called to the Trafford address in the early hours of the morning to reports of the teenage girl being attacked in an isolated incident.
Kofi Taylor, of Dorothy Street, Salford, was sentenced to life imprisonment for his offending and will serve a minimum term of 11 years and four months.
Detective Constable Emma Bentley from Greater Manchester Police (GMP), said; “Taylor’s treatment of a vulnerable young female was shocking and deplorable. Predatory behaviour like this should never be tolerated and eradicating it is a top priority.
“Her courage to come forward and give evidence has enabled us to pursue this prosecution. Though these offences have a lasting impact on victims, it is my hope this result provides some sense of closure.”
