A horse was reportedly on the loose in Sale where it 'ran through traffic' and narrowly avoided being hit by cars before being stopped by police.
At approximately 1.45pm on Friday (May 3), residents reported a horse, still equipped with its riding saddle and reins, had escaped and was making a run for it through Sale.
The brown and white pony was spotted on the main road next to the Sainsbury's supermarket and was headed towards Manchester Road.
Witnesses say the horse had "many near misses with cars" as drivers were "breaking and swerving" before it was caught by a man and a police officer.
A resident said a police car arrived with its blue lights on.
The resident, who did not wish to be named, added: "There was much police activity.
"I felt concerned for the horse as its life was in imminent danger."
A photograph then shows the horse and a man were subsequently spoken to by a police officer in a car park near Chapel Road clinic after the incident.
