The Altrincham line of the tram network is suspended due to damage to an overhead line done by "a third party".
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) revealed the issue in a post on social media at midday today (May 8).
The Altrincham line of the tram network is suspended affecting all stops between the town and Cornbrook. All stops beyond Cornbrook remain in service.
It is likely to last into the evening but ticket acceptance is in place on the 245 (Altrincham to Trafford Centre), 263 (Altrincham to Piccadilly Gardens), 281 (Altrincham to Sale) and 285 (Altrincham to Timperley) bus services as well as Northern Rail services in the interim.
