A man has been charged with attempted murder after in incident in which another man was alleged “pushed down a flight of stairs.”
Police say that the 52-year-old alleged victim was left with “life changing injuries” after the incident, which happened on the Causeway, Altrincham in the early hours of Saturday.
The next day, Sunday June 9, officers announced that they had arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the incident.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating a serious assault in Trafford that left a man with life-changing injuries have arrested a 32 year old man today, June 9 2024, on suspicion of attempted murder.
“He remains in custody at this time for questioning.
“The arrest follows an assault which occurred at around 2.10am on Saturday June 8 2024 in a premises on the Causeway in Altrincham.
“A 52-year-old man was left with serious injuries after he was pushed down a flight of stairs.
“He remains in hospital for treatment.”

Officers are continuing their investigation and have appealed for anyone with any further information to come forward.
