A woman was taken to hospital after a medical episode at last weekend's Stretford Parkrun.

The participants and organisers rushed to her aid after the medical incident at Longford Park.

A post on social media said the woman was taken to Salford Road Hospital where she remained for treatment throughout the night.

The next day (June 16) she was "stable", the post said, thanking those who rushed to her aid on the behalf of the family of the woman.

A post on social media said: "The family asked us to pass on their thanks to everyone who assisted yesterday and offered well wishes.

"Thank you Stretford."

Almost 600 participants participated in last weekend's Stretford Parkrun supported by around 30 organisers.

The event is every Saturday at Longford Park.
