Plans to convert a two bed semi-detached home in Stretford into a 10-bed house of multiple occupation (HMO) have been submitted.
Applicant Aamer Shah, based in Blackburn, wants to change the use of the house on Barton Road into shared accommodation.
If approved, the house will be divided and extended to create extra bedrooms with shared communal living space, bathrooms and kitchen and dining facilities.
Private parking along with secure bicycle racks will be provided to the outside areas as well as a bin store.
The proposed property will be three storeys with a ground floor, first floor and a loft floor.
A planning statement submitted by agent HAD & Co Property Consultants has outlined stringent measures to prevent noise nuisance to neighbours and anti-social behaviour.
“It is believed that the potential issues that could arise from the proposed HMO can be suitably managed,” it says.
“The security measures and proposed accredited management company should give reassurance to the occupants and the neighbourhood that the safety of the area will not suffer as a result of this proposal.”
“The property is within an adequate travel network that will enable residents of the HMO to make use of sustainable transport methods to access local and other services.”
