The case of a Greater Manchester Police constable who had a child with a woman while using a false identity is one of a number of cases to be considered by a tribunal in the last three months.

A list of outcomes released earlier this month revealed a dozen employees either were dismissed or would have been dismissed if they were still at the force between April 2024 and June 2024.

Those who were dismissed included a police constable who had a child with a woman while using a false identity. He asked to marry the woman although he was married to another woman under his actual identity at the time.

Then there were four police constables who were involved in the offences of corruption, common assault and sexual assault.

Those who would have been dismissed if they were still at the force included a police constable for unauthorised access and unauthorised searches on the Police National Computer while off duty.

Then there were two police constables who were involved in the offences of careless driving and perverting the course of justice.

Meanwhile one staff member received a criminal conviction for Section 20 assault, two staff members returned a positive result for cannabis during a drug test, and one staff member got a member of the public's phone number under the premise it was for a policing purpose before getting in touch with them inappropriately.

One staff member received a less signification sanction in the form of a written warning. The staff member did not declare in an application a tattoo which was contrary to the criteria for employment at Greater Manchester Police.

The total number of cases considered by a tribunal in the last three months (April 2024 to June 2024) is down on the total number of cases considered by a tribunal in the previous three months (January 2024 to March 2024).

The total number of cases so far this year is 32.
